The aroma of the wine is deep and complex, with black plum, blackberry, and blackcurrant intertwined with notes of violet blossoms, graphite, and subtle spices. The oak in the background provides hints of cedar, cocoa, and mild tobacco, yet the fruit remains central. On the palate, it is a full-bodied, structured wine with firm yet elegantly polished tannins and a vibrant acidity characteristic of high altitudes, maintaining its liveliness and tension. The taste is dominated by dark stone fruits, black berries, and chocolate nuances, gradually transitioning into a mineral, slightly saline structure. The finish is long, dry, and refined, with a clear balance of elegance and power.
About the manufacturer
This wine is made by Susana Balbo, the first female oenologist in Argentina and one of the country’s most influential winemakers. She is known as the “Queen of Torrontés” for her contributions to the development of the variety’s structure and elegance. Her Dominio del Plata winery is based on principles of sustainability, innovation and the desire to create wine that conveys the terroir characteristic of Argentina and the spirit of its wine heritage. The philosophy is a young, lively, sincere wine (the “Crios” line translates to “offspring/childhood”) – lovingly aged by hand and with respect for the origin of the grapes.
