The 2020 vintage in Valle de Uco was a cool high-altitude season, with significant diurnal temperature shifts that allowed the Chardonnay grapes to retain vibrant acidity and aromatic precision, even as the fruit reached full ripeness. Such conditions imparted an elegant yet structured character to the wine, with a clear expression of its terroir.

The aroma presents white peach, pear, citrus, and green apple, alongside notes of white flowers, delicate butter, vanilla, and subtle toasted oak. On the palate, the wine is dry, medium to full-bodied, with vibrant yet mellow acidity and a creamy texture derived from oak aging. The finish is long, clean, with hints of citrus, white fruits, and a touch of minerality.

About the manufacturer

This wine is made by Susana Balbo, the first female oenologist in Argentina and one of the country’s most influential winemakers. She is known as the “Queen of Torrontés” for her contributions to the development of the variety’s structure and elegance. Her Dominio del Plata winery is based on principles of sustainability, innovation and the desire to create wine that conveys the terroir characteristic of Argentina and the spirit of its wine heritage. The philosophy is a young, lively, sincere wine (the “Crios” line translates to “offspring/childhood”) – lovingly aged by hand and with respect for the origin of the grapes.
