The aroma is dominated by lemon zest, lime, white peach, green herbs, and flowers, along with a light smoky, volcanic minerality. On the palate, the wine is dry, very fresh, and taut, with bright acidity and a salty, "stony" texture. The taste reveals citrus, pear, melon, and a subtle herbal bitterness on the finish. The aftertaste is long, clean, and very precise.

The name "DeAetna," inspired by a 1494 Latin treatise, expresses the sacredness of the wine world. Written in dialogue form, the text tells of the Venetian writer Pietro Bembo's ascent to the summit of Etna after his stay in Messina with Constantine Lascaris.

The description of Mount Etna and the study of its activity in "DeAetna" lend a classical and historical mystique, giving Sicilian wine an intellectual moment at the table.

About the manufacturer

It is no coincidence that Terra Costantino became the first organic winery in the Etna region at a time when the world had not yet discovered the extraordinary enological microcosm of this volcano. Indeed, behind this brand lies a long history of family farming, based on a love for the land. More than 40 years ago, we encountered the charming history of this terroir: Dino Costantino redeveloped the vineyard in Contrada Blandano, where our winery is located today, and discovered that the spontaneous wines born from those 10 hectares of vines, growing in the highlands overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, originated from a centuries-old tradition, linked to a millstone dating back to 1699.
Although at the time the family business was focused on other activities, the encounter between man and land was astonishing—a love that is renewed every year, at every harvest. Since 2020, the farm has been expanded with a new vineyard in Contrada Praino, Milo: 2 wonderful terraced hectares on land naturally ideal for high-quality Etna white wine.
