A clean, smooth and highly unusual Irish vodka. The aroma has a slight herbaceousness and subtle fruitiness, while the taste is soft, pure, and slightly naturally sweet, with a fresh, lightly herbal aftertaste. Its distinctive character comes from an unusual ingredient – the fruit of the African sausage tree (Kigelia africana), along with wild Irish nettles and Irish grains.
About the manufacturer
The Shed Distillery was founded by PJ Rigney in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim, in the west of Ireland. It is the first distillery in the Connacht region in over a century. PJ Rigney conceived his project as a place for experimentation, combining traditional Irish distillation methods with unusual botanicals from around the world.
Sausage Tree Pure Irish Vodka was born from PJ Rigney's travels and curiosity – after discovering Kigelia africana in Africa, he decided to combine this exotic ingredient with wild nettles from the Drumshanbo area and Irish grains. Therefore, this is not just a neutral vodka: its essence is a very clean base, complemented by subtle botanical and fruity character. The name "Sausage Tree" refers to the African sausage tree, and the honey badger symbol on the bottle reflects the distillery's motto: "Nature has no place for the weak."
