Tinto Pesquera is one of the legendary Ribera del Duero wineries, founded in 1972 by Alejandro Fernández and his wife Esperanza Rivera in the town of Pesquera de Duero. At that time, Ribera del Duero had not yet gained global recognition, and Alejandro Fernández was one of the people who helped elevate this region to the elite of Spanish winemaking. Due to his achievements, he is often called the "Master of Tempranillo," and his wines have become one of the region's benchmarks for quality. Today, the winery belongs to the Familia Fernández Rivera group, and the technical team is led by Rodrigo Pons, who continues the style created by Alejandro Fernández. The winery owns approximately 200 hectares of Tempranillo vineyards, growing at an altitude of over 800 meters above sea level. Calcareous clay soils, significant daily temperature fluctuations, and traditional aging in American oak barrels allow for the creation of concentrated, elegant, and long-lived wines. Tinto Pesquera Crianza is considered the winery's calling card and one of the most prominent examples of the classic Ribera del Duero style.
