The aroma reveals ripe cherries, dried plums, fig cake, and raisins, complemented by thyme, pomegranates, espresso, licorice, and dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, rich, and velvety, yet surprisingly fresh due to its vibrant acidity. The tannins are smooth and well-integrated, with a long finish featuring coffee, spices, dried fruit, and cocoa.

Valpolicella Classico – the historic birthplace of Amarone, located between Verona and Lake Garda. The mild lake climate, hilly terrain, and limestone and volcanic soils create ideal conditions for the Corvina grape. This is where the famous appassimento technique originated, allowing for the production of some of Italy's most long-lived and complex red wines.

About the manufacturer

The Tommasi story began in 1902 when Giacomo Battista Tommasi acquired the first vineyard in the Valpolicella Classico region. Today, the fourth generation of the Tommasi family manages over 800 hectares of vineyards throughout Italy, but Amarone remains their calling card. The winery is renowned for combining the traditional appassimento method with modern winemaking, and their Amarone is often regarded as one of the best examples of a classic, elegant style, where balance and longevity, rather than weight, are paramount.
