Aromas: red cherries, sour cherries, raspberries and light floral notes, with balsamic, herbal and subtle spicy hints. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, very elegant and silky, with bright, fresh acidity (a typical Valpolicella backbone) and soft but noticeable tannins. The taste is focused on the purity of red berries, a light earthiness and a subtle chocolate/spice undertone. The finish is clean, quite long and very harmonious.
About the manufacturer
The Tommasi story began in 1902 when Giacomo Battista Tommasi acquired the first vineyard in the Valpolicella Classico region. Today, the fourth generation of the Tommasi family manages over 800 hectares of vineyards throughout Italy, but Amarone remains their calling card. The winery is renowned for combining the traditional appassimento method with modern winemaking, and their Amarone is often regarded as one of the best examples of a classic, elegant style, where balance and longevity, rather than weight, are paramount.
