The aroma reveals black cherry, plum, blackcurrant, and blueberry, along with violets, tobacco, black pepper, cocoa, and a light smoky character. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, very structured and intense, with pronounced yet ripe tannins and higher acidity—a characteristic feature of Aglianico. The taste combines dark fruits, spices, leather, espresso, and a subtle mineral line. The finish is long, dry, and very gastronomic.

About the manufacturer

Tormaresca's chief enologist and creative force is Renzo Cotarella, one of Italy's most renowned winemakers and the long-standing wine architect for the Antinori family. It was he who helped shape Tormaresca's modern style when the Antinori family decided to invest in the Puglia region in 1998 and demonstrate that southern Italy could produce not only powerful but also elegant, terroir-expressive wines. Renzo Cotarella is known for his ability to combine tradition with modern enology – his style emphasizes a crucial balance between fruit concentration, acidity, and elegance. In the Tormaresca projects, he focuses heavily on indigenous Southern Italian varieties such as Aglianico, Primitivo, and Negroamaro, but interprets them with great precision and "international" sophistication. As a result, Bocca di Lupo is often considered one of the most elegant Aglianico wines from the Puglia region.
