McLaren Vale is located in South Australia, not far from Adelaide, nestled between the hills and the ocean, so the vineyards are constantly cooled by the sea breeze. This location is almost ideal for Shiraz, as there is a lot of sun during the day, allowing the grapes to fully ripen, and the cooler nights help maintain acidity and balance. These conditions make McLaren Vale Shiraz very aromatic and rich, but not too heavy or overheated. The aroma is mainly dark berries - blackberries, black cherries, plums - along with black pepper, sweet spices, chocolate and a light smoky shade. In the mouth, the wine is full-bodied, with soft, velvety tannins and juicy fruitiness. The texture is round, warm, but not tiring, and the acidity helps maintain freshness. The long, spicy aftertaste clearly shows why McLaren Vale is considered one of the best places in the world to grow Shiraz.

About the manufacturer

McLaren Vale is one of Australia's oldest and most reliable wine regions, nestled between the ocean and the hills. The vineyards here get plenty of sun but are also cooled by sea breezes, allowing the grapes to ripen evenly and retain their acidity. Australia is generally a great place to make wine, with plenty of sunshine, a stable climate and a wide variety of soils, allowing each region to have its own style. McLaren Vale is unique in that the soils are old and varied, from clay to limestone, giving the wines structure as well as fruit.
Two Hands Wines is one of Australia’s leading contemporary winemakers, founded by friends Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz, who work together to create high-quality wines. The name “Two Hands” symbolises this partnership and their commitment to uncompromising quality from vineyard to bottle. The winery operates primarily in the wine regions of South Australia, including the Eden Valley and Barossa Valley, where the geographical conditions and old vines offer unique aromatic and structural possibilities.
