An elegant, concentrated and highly distinctive Blaufränkisch. The aroma reveals black cherries, blueberries, elderberries, liquorice, herbs, spices, and subtle notes of smoke and stone. The taste is rich yet not heavy, combining dark fruitiness, vibrant freshness, pepperiness, and firm but ripe tannins. The finish is long, saline and mineral.

Uwe Schiefer is one of the most important interpreters of Südburgenland Blaufränkisch. His wines are not known for extraction or the power of new oak, but for their elegance, freshness, minerality, and distinctive vineyard character.
Ried Königsberg is one of the Eisenberg sites where Blaufränkisch takes on a darker, more structured character, while retaining the varietal’s characteristic pepperiness and vibrant acidity. The 2019 vintage imparted a good balance of concentration and freshness to this wine; it already shows maturity today, but can still develop beautifully.
