The aroma is dominated by bright red berries – strawberries, cherries, raspberries – together with blackcurrants and a light freshness of citrus peel. In the background, notes of brioche, spices (white pepper, a hint of ginger), and a light toasted tone emerge. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, lively, and structured: Pinot Noir provides the backbone and depth, Chardonnay contributes cleanliness, and Meunier offers soft fruitiness. The bubbles are fine, and the taste transitions from fresh red fruits to a drier, mineral, slightly salty finish.

About the manufacturer

Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin, better known as Madame Clicquot, was born in Reims in 1777 and became one of the most important women in the history of Champagne. At just 27, she became a widow (French: veuve) and took over her husband's family champagne house at a time when women had almost no right to run a business. Despite this, she took control, formed a clear vision, and transformed a small family business into an international champagne brand. She was one of the first to produce champagne as a systematic, quality-based product, rather than a random local drink. Throughout her life, Madame Clicquot became a symbol of innovation: she contributed to the shaping of modern champagne production, established the idea of vintage champagne, and helped create a style that emphasizes clarity, structure, and elegance instead of the previous very sweet and cloudy champagne. Due to her courage, entrepreneurship, and influence, she is often called the "Grande Dame de la Champagne," and her name lives on today through the Veuve Clicquot house – one of the most famous champagne brands in the world.
