Weingut Johannishof – a historic family winery in the Rheingau region, today managed by Johannes and Sabine Eser, who are the 10th generation of the family and have been leading the winery since 1999. The winery focuses primarily on Riesling, and its wine style is based on expressing the different soils and ripeness levels of the Rheingau vineyards. The winery emphasizes respect for nature, selective manual harvesting, and the most precise work possible in the vineyard and cellar. Both modern and traditional methods are used, including spontaneous fermentation. The vineyards around Rüdesheim are dominated by Taunus quartzite and red slate, and the sunny microclimate near the Rhine allows Riesling to achieve good ripeness while maintaining vibrant acidity.
