  • 100% Riesling
  • Dry white wine, aged in neutral oak barrels

A highly distinctive and mineralic Riesling from one of Kamptal's most renowned vineyards. The aroma reveals lemon peel, mandarins, dried herbs, hay, smoke, and subtle notes of stone and yeastiness. The taste is precise and concentrated, with bright, lively acidity, citrus fruitiness, and impressive minerality. The 2019 vintage is already beginning to acquire complexity from aging, yet maintains excellent tension and has very good potential for further maturation.

About the manufacturer

Weingut Jurtschitsch is one of the most important wineries in Kamptal, located in the village of Langenlois. Today, the winery is run by Alwin and Stefanie Jurtschitsch, who combine family traditions with organic viticulture and a more natural, less interventionist approach to winemaking. The winery has a natural cellar more than 700 years old, where the wines can mature slowly and naturally. Ried Heiligenstein is one of the most important Riesling vineyards in the entire Kamptal region. The vines here grow on a Zöbing Perm geological base approximately 270 million years old – reddish, weathered desert sandstone with conglomerates of volcanic origin. The barren terraces and unique geology give the wine not simple fruitiness, but density, tension, and exceptional minerality. Heiligenstein is one of the reasons why Kamptal Riesling can be as serious and long-lived as the best Rieslings from Austria or Germany.
