A powerful, concentrated, and elegant Grüner Veltliner. The aroma reveals red apple peel, ripe yellow fruits, subtle exotic fruits, dark spices, light tobacco, and sandalwood. The taste is rich and textured, with juicy fruitiness, bright but integrated acidity, and a long, spicy finish. The loess soil gives the wine a richer, rounder character and notes of exotic yellow fruits.

About the manufacturer

Weingut Knoll, officially Emmerich Knoll, is one of the most famous and respected wineries in Wachau. The family winery is located in the village of Unterloiben, and its wines are recognizable by one of Austria's most famous wine labels – a Baroque image of St. Urban, the patron saint of vineyards. The Knoll family focuses primarily on Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, and their wines are characterized not by modern, fruity lightness, but by the classic Wachau style: concentration, spiciness, minerality, and the ability to age for a long time. The wines are fermented and aged in traditional large wooden barrels, and the head winemaker Emmerich Knoll, together with his family, strives to maintain the clearest possible expression of a particular vineyard.
