An elegant, lighter-bodied Pinot Noir, combining aromas of red cherry, raspberry, cranberry, and wild berries. The taste is juicy and fresh, with soft tannins, a subtle spiciness, and a light earthy character. The 2023 vintage is characterized by fruitiness, freshness, and the typical lightness of Austrian Pinot Noir.

About the manufacturer

Weingut Markowitsch is a family winery located in the village of Göttlesbrunn, in the Carnuntum region. The winery is managed by Gerhard Markowitsch, one of Austria's most renowned producers of red wines. Although Carnuntum is particularly famous for Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch, very good Pinot Noir wines are also produced here. This wine is labeled with the "Österreich" category, meaning the grapes can originate from different Austrian vineyards, not just from one specific appellation. However, the producer himself is from Carnuntum, a region east of Vienna, where a warmer climate allows Pinot Noir to ripen while retaining its characteristic red fruit aromatics and freshness.
