An elegant, concentrated and mineral Riesling. The aroma reveals ripe peaches, apricots, yellow stone fruit, citrus peel and stony mineral notes. The taste is dry, compact and vibrant, with good acidity, ripe fruitiness and a long, mineral finish. The 2018 vintage was characterized by high grape ripeness, yet Weelfel maintained a good acid balance and structure.

About the manufacturer
Wimmer-Czerny is a family winery in the village of Fels am Wagram, whose farming history dates back to the 18th century. The family has been farming their vineyards biodynamically since 2005 and is Demeter certified. The winery owns about 15 hectares of vineyards, focusing on Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, and the regional Wagram specialty – Roter Veltliner.
Weelfel is one of their most important Riesling wines, made from plots located higher in the vineyard with stony and sandy soil. This location gives the wine more freshness, mineral character, and structure. Wimmer-Czerny's winemaking is based on manual labor, natural yeasts, longer contact with lees, and minimal intervention in the cellar.
